About

Gregarious UX/UI survivalist and process-thinking trailblazer carving out new pathways in the rugged terrain of an old-school industry

Having spent the last 2+ years as the first UX/UI hire at a company in a traditionally conservative industry, and the first year and a half as a team of one, I've learned to prioritize relationship building, cross-functional collaboration, and a balance of 360° system thinking and attention to detail.

Before that, I spent over 5 years designing websites for clients as both a freelance web designer and marketing designer at an agency. All in all, I’ve spent nearly 8 years wrangling pixels and mental patterns to create interesting and intuitive experiences for users across a variety of industries.

What do people come to me for?

  • Cutting through complexity

  • Coordinating & collaborating across departments

  • Knowing the project down to the details & being able to identify potential issues

  • Taking a project and running with it with little guidance needed, but always ready to ask questions & collaborate

  • Brainstorming with team members and collaborators to break down ideas and potential solutions

  • Enthusiasm and a well-timed gif in the group chat

I’m always learning. These are some resources that I reach to regularly:

  • I’ve been an active member of the Ladies that UX Atlanta chapter for over 3 years.

  • Lately I’ve been learning about Object Oriented UX (OOUX), regularly attending meetups and taking courses.

  • I receive ongoing career mentoring via ADPList.

  • I also love a good podcast; some industry favorites are: The UX Hustle, The Object Oriented UX Podcast, Design Systems Podcast and DesignOps Island Discs.
